Hotwire Native iOS App

Updated Apr 07, 2025
Price: Free

Description

Say hello to the RubyEvents.org iOS App, built with Hotwire Native.

A Native Experience, Powered by Rails

This app is also meant as a public resource and a reference project for how to build modern mobile apps using Rails.

This architecture gives you the best of both worlds: server-rendered HTML for fast iteration and low complexity, plus native UI when and where you want it. Having more open-source Hotwire Native apps is going to be valuable for the community.

This app is meant to celebrate the launch of RubyEvents.org and kick off a new era of Ruby community infrastructure. But it’s only the beginning.

RubyEvents.org is an open platform, and so is the app. We welcome contributions, ideas, and improvements β€” whether you’re a designer, organizer, mobile dev, or just someone excited about Ruby’s future.

We’re also working on an Android version of the app and would love help bringing it to life. If you’re familiar with Android or just interested in learning, this could be a great way to get involved too.
